Feb 5th, 2009 I don't have much time to write at the moment, but i just wanted to say a few words. God is so good. Seriously, this whole idol experience has been an incredible one.Maybe I didn't get as far as I would have hoped, but honestly, I don't have one complaint about it. I had the opportunity to be a part of my favorite television show, I've made some incredible friends, learned a TON about myself, and even gained a bit of confidence through it all! It's funny how being told "you have no courage" actually causes that courage to rise up in you. I blogged about this revelation actually just after my trip to Hollywood (of course I wasn't able to talk about where I had just been, or what I was referring to... but if you want to read- it see my post from 11.21.08) More than anything, I've learned how sometimes, it's stepping out in your fear that brings the most personal growth! Honestly, nothing compares to the nerves I felt throughout this whole process. American Idol was me stepping out in my fears... and looking back over my time there in Hollywood, I feel such a sense of peace and accomplishment. God is good.... and He ultimately is the one directing my path - whether is on Idol, or not! :) |

I'm Sharon Wilbur, your new Idol Insider for FOX 30! Maybe you remember me from Season 8 of Idol, my adorable little dog Sasha charmed Simon during my audition right here in Jacksonville and then I went onto to Hollywood where I made many Idol friends that I still keep in touch with (like Danny Gokey, hope everyone caught his show last week at Mavericks). Hollywood Week was soooo crazy! Now, I am back in the area and excited to have you join me every week as I recap the happenings on the most anticipated show of the year: American Idol, SEASON 9! You can also follow me on Twitter for LIVE commentary during each episode: www.twitter.com/sharonwilburSo...here we are, just hours away from the premiere! What I find most addictive about this show is that we get to participate in the creation of a "STAR"! I don't know about you, but I'm pretty excited that Ellen Degeneres is joining the crew. I think it needed a bit of a revival with Paula leaving and Ellen will definitely provide some good comic relief. -And don't even get me started on the rumors that Simon is making this his last year! I can't IMAGINE what the show would be without his brutal honestly, those are some of the BEST moments! Knowing what the contestants are going through at this moment, i'm so nervous and excited for them! Let the rollercoaster begin! TUNE IN TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY NIGHT AT 8pm for the Season Premiere and don't forget to check back in here after the show!
