I'm Sharon Wilbur, your new Idol Insider for FOX30! Maybe you remember me from Season 8 of Idol - my adorable little dog Sasha charmed Simon during my audition right here in Jacksonville and then I went onto to Hollywood where I made many Idol friends that I still keep in touch with (like Danny Gokey – hope everyone caught his show last week at Mavericks). Hollywood Week was soooo crazy! Now, I am back in the area and excited to have you join me every week as I recap the happenings on the most anticipated show of the year: American Idol, SEASON 9! You can also follow me on Twitter for LIVE commentary during each episode: www.twitter.com/sharonwilbur.

So...here we are, just hours away from the premiere! What I find most addictive about this show is that we get to participate in the creation of a "STAR"! I don't know about you, but I'm pretty excited that Ellen Degeneres is joining the crew. I think it needed a bit of a revival with Paula leaving and Ellen will definitely provide some good comic relief. -And don't even get me started on the rumors that Simon is making this his last year! I can't IMAGINE what the show would be without his brutal honestly, those are some of the BEST moments!

Knowing what the contestants are going through at this moment, i'm so nervous and excited for them! Let the rollercoaster begin! TUNE IN TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY NIGHT AT 8pm for the Season Premiere and don't forget to check back in here after the show!

People Magazine has its Most Beautiful People. Barbara Walters has her Most Fascinating People. TIME magazine has its Person of the Year. So why can't Stargazing have its Most Beautiful, Fascinating, Talented, Charming and All-around Swell People of the Year?

Actually, I can. That said, here is part one of Stargazing's Most Beautiful, Fascinating, Talented, Charming and All-Around Swell Jacksonvillians of the Year, all of whom I've actually met and can personally attest to their beauty, fascination, talent, charm and all-around swellness...

Around these parts, Sharon Wilbur is best known as "the girl with the dog" from American Idol season 8. In addition to being a talented singer, she's also an extremely gifted songwriter who just released her first full-length CD, Mercy Calling. And even if she weren't so talented, Sharon is someone you'd want to know because she's one of the sweetest and most genuine people you will ever meet in your life. Can I get an amen?!?

Title: What is Messianic Music? Part II
Reporter: Chad Elliot

[Excerpt]

Historians are quick to point to out that for any form of music to survive, it must change, adapt, and evolve. This certainly seems to be the case with Messianic music. Today’s generation of performers has a very different perspective on what is Messianic, and the songs they produce don’t always follow convention.

Sharon Wilbur – a third-generation Messianic Jew and daughter of Joel Chernoff – has a very personal viewpoint on the evolution of Messianic music. Sharon has a powerful voice and expression all her own, with one album already released and another in the making. The dark-haired chanteuse believes that while styles have changed over the years, the heart of any Messianic tune remains the same.
“I think it’s really about the vision, where the song is coming from” reflects Sharon. “The lyrics and prophetic outlook are very important, and that message shouldn’t just be for the Messianic movement, it’s for the Church, for the whole Body of Messiah. That’s what my vision is: to make music that is completely Messianic in every way, but is something that the Church can say, ‘wow, this is cool, this is relevant, it’s not just for Messianic Jews!’”
